Vikings fall to Mishawaka

MISHAWAKA – A three-run fourth inning was all Mishawaka needed Friday afternoon to defeat visiting Niles in the opening round of the Mishawaka baseball tournament.

The Cavemen defeated the Vikings (0-2) 6-0.

Mishawaka scored three runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and two in the sixth on eight hits.

Niles finished with five hits and committed four errors.

Tyler Parish was 2-for-4 with a double for the Vikings, who also got hits from T Weldy, Chris Mangus and Tate Brawley.

Taylor Campbell worked the first four innings and took the loss. Brawley worked the final two innings.

Trey Bickel earned the victory for the Cavemen.Bickel struck out 13 and walked five in five and a third innings of work.
