Booklet combats teen drinking

Published 9:59pm Thursday, April 5, 2012

In an effort to fight underage drinking, Dowagiac’s state Rep. Sharon Tyler’s office will be distributing free booklets as part of Alcohol Awareness Month in April. The booklets offer tips for parents on how to talk to their teens about alcohol, spot alcohol use and prevent it.
Throughout April, Tyler, R-Niles, will distribute free “Parents Unite to Prevent Underage Drinking” booklets, produced by the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals and the Michigan Beer and Wine Wholesalers Association.
“Underage drinking is everybody’s problem and it needs to stop,” Tyler said.
