WMU hosting Spring Game Tailgate

KALAMAZOO — Western Michigan University Athletics is hosting a Spring Game Tailgate to promote the 2012 football season April 14, in the Seeyle Center.

This event is a chance for coaches, players and fans to interact and engage on the same ground, and further, reconnect with former Bronco football players during the Second Annual WMU Alumni Flag football game.

The event will commence at 8:30 a.m. where there will be free parking in all lots surrounding the stadium as well as free admission. Additionally, between the start time and 10 a.m., there will be music, interactive activities and more for your enjoyment.

WMU Athletics encourages all partakers to participate in the canned good drop-off that will be located at the entrance of the Seelye Center. Maggie’s stew will also be offered for $5 to fans while awaiting the arrival of the players to meet, greet and sign autographs.

Before the start of the 11 a.m. alumni flag football game, there will be a seasonal recap of the Western Michigan football team and an outlook for the promising 2012 season. Moreover, athletic director Kathy Beauregard and coach Bill Cubit will address the crowd.

The 2012 Spring Game Tailgate invites and encourages all fans to stay for the legendary Brown and Gold game at noon.
