Dowagiac golfers win again

COLOMA — The Dowagiac golf team earned its second straight victory at Lake Michigan Hills Thursday afternoon.

The Chieftains defeated Bridgman and host Lake Michigan College. Dowagiac shot 174 with Bridgman coming in second with 192 and the Lakers third with 212.

Dowagiac’s Jordan Juday earned medalist honors with his 40.

The Chieftains also got 41 from Cody Fairleigh, 46 from Christian Hess, 47 from Jon Robinson, 48 from Paul Lamphere and 49 from Andrew Wild.

“We are still looking for some serious help from the three, four, five people,” Dowagiac coach Van Johnson said. If we can get some help from them we will be OK.”

Dowagiac’s JV squad was supposed to have a match Thursday, but did not. The Chieftains still played an shot 217.

Dowagiac was led by Jeremiah Guernsey’s 49. Jordan Hagemann shot 53, Ross Tidey 55, Adrian Leverson 60 and Mike Luthringer 65.
