Spa-Toe-Pia, 29111 Pike St., behind Hale’s Hardware, agreed to donate $5 of every $10 blue hair extension in April to Autism Speaks, according to Mel Reed of Dowagiac.
Her 7-year-old daughter, Bella, is on the autism spectrum and “we are trying to raise money to be donated to Autism Speaks for research and assistance to those with autism and those who love them.
April is Light It Up Blue month for Autism Awareness, and all over the world people are letting their blue lights shine.
“This fundraiser will help Bella and others like her here in Dowagiac and all over the world,” Reed said, adding that a new case of autism is diagnosed every 15 minutes.
