Niles 7th grade wins title

The Niles Vikings seventh grade squad went 10-0 during the inaugural season at the Niles Sports Warehouse.

The Vikings seventh grade defeated the Vikings eighth grade in the championship game 37-24.

Alex Harpenau led the seventh grade with 12 points, while Dereck Brown had eight points for the eighth grade.

The Vikings seventh grade defeated the Buchanan Bulls 47-20 to advance to the title game, while the Vikings eighth grade defeated the Buchanan Bucks 28-19 in the other semifinal game.

Jake Hamm and James Kirtdoll both had 10 points for the seventh grade, while Ahmad Thomas had seven points for the Bulls. Ben Evans led the Vikings eighth grade with eight points. Nick Draper had eight points for the Bucks.

In the opening game of the tournament, the Bulls defeated Brandywine 39-33.

Tim McCaffrey had 18 points for the Bulls. Austin Knapp had 13 points for Brandywine.
