A new community garden location is emerging — the old tennis courts behind Union High.
Supt. Dr. Mark Daniel said at Monday night’s Board of Education meeting at City Hall, “The city approached us. We looked at our various grounds and, after thinking about it a bit further, we’re looking at the tennis courts at the high school, which are not very usable in the shape they’re in.
“With the fencing, the city may install some lights, water from the fire hydrant there and it’s located in the center of the city. We’d have someone remove the tennis courts. That’s in the works.”
