Southwestern Michigan College Board of Trustees accepted contributions on behalf of the college at its March meeting on the Dowagiac campus. The following gifts were received with a resolution of thanks from the Board of Trustees:

• From Cairn Stone Adventure Tours, Dowagiac, a $2,000 contribution

• From Wanda Franklin, Dowagiac, $250

• From Margaret Hunter, Dowagiac,  $100

• From Don and Lauren Woodhouse, Dowagiac, $100

The following state grants were accepted by the board

• From the U.S. Department of Education, a Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant in the amount of $1,000 for the 2011-2012 award year
• From the U.S. Department of Education, a Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Grant in the amount of $4,000 for the 2011-2012 award year

The board accepted the following donation to the Museum at SMC:

• From Dowagiac Union Schools — Frank Freeland painting of Round Oak foundry, 1936
