CASSOPOLIS — Mobile and manufactured homes represent a fraction of America’s housing stock, but consume a disproportionately large amount of energy.

Midwest Energy Cooperative will host free contractor training sessions to address the challenges and unique details confronted in implementing energy efficiency improvements for mobile and manufactured homes.

A session will be held from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, March 29, at the Cassopolis office, 901 E. State St.

Any local contractor is invited to attend. Specific emphasis will be placed on insulation and weatherization efforts for mobile and manufactured homes and a demonstration cutout model will be used as part of the training.

Midwest is partnering with the Wisconsin Energy Conservation Corp. in offering these programs and participating home performance and insulation contractors will be eligible for continuing education units. Both programs are free, but space is limited.
