Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police Chief Kenneth Wray reports that his department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred at 7:11 a.m. at U.S. 12 and Conrad Road.
A car driven by Kimmarie Bogold, 38, of Dailey Road, Edwardsburg, was in the westbound lane, stopped, waiting for traffic, to make a left turn south on Conrad Road. With her was her 4-year- old daughter.
Her vehicle was struck from behind by a vehicle driven by Laura Hughes, 52, of Washington Boulevard, Edwardsburg, who was also westbound.
When the Bogold vehicle was struck, it was forced by the impact to enter the eastbound lane, where it was immediately struck by an eastbound vehicle driven by Jared Holst, 17, of Rocking Horse Lane, Niles, and carrying his sister, 12, as they were going to school in Edwardsburg.
All drivers and passengers were using seatbelts or car seats at the time of the crash and no alcohol was involved, police reported.
Drivers and passengers were attended to by the Edwardsburg Area Ambulance Service, checked for injuries and released with no injuries.
Ontwa Township-Edwardsburg Police were assisted at the scene by the Cass County Sheriff’s Office and the Edwardsburg Fire Department.
