Man hits deer, then tree

CASSOPOLIS — Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports deputies from his office were dispatched to a single motor vehicle crash with injuries on Glenwood Road, north of Marcellus Highway in Wayne Township at 6:13 a.m. Tuesday.
A vehicle driven by Mark Shelly, 54, of Marcellus, was northbound on Glenwood Road when he hit a deer.
Shelly then lost control of his vehicle and ran off the road head-on into a tree.
Shelly was transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac by Pride Care Ambulance Service.
Seat belts were used. There was airbag deployment. Alcohol was not a factor.
