State Rep. Aric Nesbitt kicked off his March is Reading Month tour by reading to several classes at Bert Goens Learning Center in Lawrence.
“Children always benefit from the personal attention paid to them when someone reads them a story,” said Nesbitt R-Lawton.
“This isn’t just about me reading to them.  It’s about teaching them the importance of reading so they can be successful in whatever they do as they grow.”
Nesbitt will read to students throughout the area during March to promote literacy in young children.  Additional reading dates are:
• Friday: Covert Elementary
• Friday: Lawrence Elementary
• March 12: South Haven Elementary
• March 16: Davis Elementary (Decatur)
• March 19: Bloomindale Elementary
• March 19: Dix Elementary (Otsego)
• March 23: Basil Catholic School (South Haven)
