AUBURN HILLS – Top-ranked Gage Hutchison of Buchanan and Brandywine’s Chanc Ravish are the first of the area wrestlers to advance to the Michigan High School Athletic Association Individual Wrestling semifinals.

Hutchison (55-0) pinned Jay Sroufe of Dundee in 41 seconds to advance, while Ravish scored a technical fall (17-2) over Nick Barnhill of Jonesville.

Niles’ Donte Stevens was defeated in his 145-pound quarterfinal match by Gabe Stephanovich 8-3.

The second round of consolation matches begin at approximately 2 p.m. with the championship semifinals scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
