CASSOPOLIS — A snowmobile accident in Silver Creek Township Saturday afternoon injured an Elkhart, Ind., man.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that at about 4 p.m. his office was called to investigate a personal-injury crash involving a single machine.
Richard Sailor, 40, of Elkhart, was riding on the Four Flags trail in the area of School Street and Garrett Road when he hit a large object, causing him to lose control and hit a tree.
He was taken to a nearby residence, then transported to Borgess-Lee Memorial Hospital in Dowagiac for treatment.
Deputies said Sailor wore a helmet. Alcohol is not a factor. This case remains under investigation.
Pride Care Ambulance Service assisted the sheriff’s office.
