The COA’s satellite center in downtown Dowagiac is expected to open in April.

Cass County Council on Aging’s new Dowagiac senior center next to City Hall has a name.
The new facility opening in April will be called Front Street Crossing.
County native Brent Robinson will manage the satellite center.
Robinson has been facilities manager at the COA’s Ed Lowe Center near Cassopolis since 2006.
Bob Long, who heads up charitable giving for the COA, said Tuesday the name brands its Dowagiac location with its status as a “gathering place” for seniors and the community.
“Construction is going along very nicely. I think the community is going to be real happy with it,” Long said. “We are. Brent’s looking forward to getting it open, as we all are.
”We really appreciate the fantastic response we had from the Dowagiac area and Cass County in general for the capital campaign. We think it will be a nice complement to what is downtown and hope it will give western Cass County better access to our services.”
