Premier about ready to go

Published 9:50pm Monday, February 27, 2012

Premier Die-Cast expects to start production “in mid- to late-March” in the former ICG plant, City Manager Kevin Anderson informed Dowagiac City Council Monday night.
Anderson also reported that the city Web site will be revamped in the next 30 to 45 days.
Council met for a few minutes before clearing the chamber for a closed session to discuss collective bargaining with IBEW Local 876.
Normally, council would retreat into a small conference room, but it is full of voting machines for Tuesday’s Michigan presidential primary from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Mayor Pro Tem Leon Laylin, who presided over the meeting in the absence of Mayor Don Lyons, said, as is customary, the council would conduct no business afterward.
