Midwest sending 4 teens to summit

Midwest Energy Cooperative is looking for a few good teens for the 2012 Youth Leadership Summit (YLS) April 18-20 at the Kettunen 4-H Center near Cadillac.
Leaders in the classroom, court and community are sought to join young leaders from across the state for the YLS event, sponsored by Michigan’s electric cooperatives.
This unique, high-energy experience will help teens further develop your leadership habits, explore career opportunities in the electric industry and learn how to be actively involved in the democratic process — all while enjoying interactive activities, good food, relaxation and fun with teens from all over the state.
High school sophomores or juniors in the Midwest Energy Cooperative service territory are eligible to apply and four students will be selected to attend.
Midwest will then select two participants for the 2012 Youth Tour during the summer of 2012, an all-expenses paid tour of Washington, D.C. with hundreds of other teens from around the country.
With the exception of personal spending money, both trips are fully funded by the cooperative.
More information and an online application are available at TeamMidwest.com.
