Jefferson Twp. hearing road pitch

Residents of Jefferson Township will have an opportunity to learn first-hand about the Cass County road millage proposal that will be on the ballot Feb. 28 when voters will be voting in the presidential primary election.
The Jefferson Township Community Awareness Group will be hosting a presentation by Lou Csokasy, manager of the Cass County Road Commission, who will explain in depth the need for additional funding. The group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at Jefferson Township Hall, 24725 Jefferson Center St., west of M-62.
“This is an important issue since it will directly affect our taxes,” said Jeff Nelson, one of the group members.
Residents are encouraged to contact their friends and neighbors and invite them to attend.
“This is a typical town hall type meeting,” Nelson said. “An opportunity for us to find out how our tax dollars would be spent and whether or not it is a practical use. So, if you want to have a say in how your money is spent, this is your chance.”
Following the question-and-answer session, refreshments will be served. For more information about the Community Awareness Group, contact Flena Rubalcaba at 445-8834.
