The Dowagiac Middle School eighth grade basketball team lost a heartbreaking 13-11 decision to Three Rivers Monday.

The Chieftains had the lead with 1:30 remaining in the contest.

Dowagiac had four chances to take the lead, but could not get the ball to fall.

Dorisha McNeil led the team with five points, 11 rebounds, an assist and a block.

Brittney Strauss added six points, two rebounds and two steals. Gabby Harrison and Alyssa Allen each had three rebounds.
