Jennifer Ray, director of Cass District Library, displays the award the library branches won from the Cass County Great Start Parent Coalition for being family friendly.

The Cass County Great Start Parent Coalition has recognized two more local businesses as family friendly — Dussel’s Farm Market in Cassopolis and Cass District Library branches.
The manager of Dussel’s (Mark Dussel) and the library director (Jennifer Ray) were both “honored to receive this award.”
These Cass County businesses receive a window decal award because they meet the family-friendly criteria, such as giving “back” to the community, restrooms with changing stations, allowing strollers, automatic opening doors, helping mothers to their car and many more (businesses  need to meet four to qualify).
Parents are encouraged to nominate a business that meets minimum standards to be recognized. Nomination forms can be found on the Cass County Great Start website, www.greatstart-cass.org.
Cass County Great Start Coalition works alongside the Cass County Great Start Collaborative, which is made up of parents, clergy, business people and health and human service organization leaders.
