The Berrien County Board of Commissioners voted last week to extend County Administrator Bill Wolf’s contract another year.

The unanimous decision, made Thursday at the weekly board meeting, extends Wolf’s contract through 2014 with a 1 percent pay raise. His annual salary stands at $121,513.

District 12 Commissioner John LaMore said Wolf was given high marks in his corresponding evaluation. Each of the 13 county commissioners participate in the evaluation, grading him on a number of areas. He earned an average score of 4.5 on a five-point scale.

“He does an outstanding job,” LaMore said. “You watch the news, and you’ll see a crisis in a lot of other counties. He tries to be fair and conservative with the budget. He analyzes very diligently.”

Wolf, who has been county administrator since 2005, sets fiscal and personnel policies for the county. He manages a 2012 budget of $114.3 million.
