Drug team arrests two

A search warrant executed by the Cass County Drug Enforcement on Jan. 26 in the 100 block of E. Railroad Street in Dowagiac yielded two arrests.
The search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation into illegal drug sales.
When detectives from the drug team entered the residence they located two adult males and a young child.
Police struggled with one subject who allegedly was attempting to destroy evidence.
Officers were able to secure the residence and located suspected crack cocaine and suspected marijuana.
During the search, investigators report uncovering packaging material, scales and other evidence indicating illegal drug sales.
One male subject was arrested at the scene for possession of marijuana with intent to deliver, resisting and obstructing police and loitering in a drug house.
A second adult male was arrested for possession of crack cocaine with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, maintaining a drug house, and a seven-count felony warrant for conspiracy to commit robbery.
The warrant stemmed from a Dowagiac Police Department investigation.  Both adult males were lodged at Cass County Jail in Cassopolis.
Child Protective Services was called to the scene, and the child was taken into protective custody.
