Hunter Wallace, Austin Towne, Drafted! past president Ashley Rogers and Hesston Wallace deliver a trailer of pet food to Cass County Animal Control Director Mike Grice Monday.

CASSOPOLIS — Drafted! Monday afternoon delivered to Cass County Animal Control a trailer filled with food donated during two weekends of posing pets with Santa in Niles.
Cost of a Christmas photo was a pet food donation.
By pets, we mean not only dogs and cats, but a goat, even a calf.
Lorenne Towne, key leader of the countywide 4-H club, took the photographs at TSC in Niles through her studio, Countryside Photography, with the help of assistant leader Tim Wallace playing Santa.
One feline bolted at the sight of the canines and “tried to climb down my back,” Wallace said.
Drafted!’s members come from all over the county, including Dowagiac, Niles, Edwardsburg and Cassopolis.
They pursued the second annual pet photo project on Saturday and Sunday over two weekends.
Since TSC is over the county line, they will be making a like delivery to Valarie Grimes’ Berrien County shelter.
Coming up Feb. 11 is the fourth annual farm toy event at Lewis Cass Intermediate School District combining layouts with vendor sales.
