MENDON — Visiting Brandywine overcame a slow start to knock off host Mendon 46-33 in a non-conference girls basketball game Monday night.
The top-ranked Bobcats used 10 3-pointers to subdue the Hornets, who led 8-3 after one quarter of play.
Mendon (9-2) used a box-and-one defense against Brandywine leading scorer Carlie Newman, who still ended up with 15 points.
“Carlie did a phenomenal job of being unselfish with the basketball tonight,” Brandywine coach Josh Hood said.
The Bobcats (12-0) outscored the Hornets 17-7 in the second quarter to take a 20-15 halftime advantage.
Brandywine would never look back.
The Bobcats led by nine points, 34-25, heading into the final eight minutes of play and outscored Mendon 12-8 to finish off the Hornets.
