Rangers fall twice at Bangor tournament

BANGOR — The Cassopolis girls basketball team dropped a pair of games at the Bangor Holiday Tournament.

The Rangers were defeated by the host Vikings 52-38 in their opening game and then lost to Comstock 38-34 in overtime in the consolation game.

Tammy Lee led the Rangers against the Vikings with nine points, while Jameka Eleazor and Savannah Sullivan each scored eight points.

Against Comstock, the Colts outscored the Rangers 6-2 in overtime to earn the victory.

Courtney Moore had 14 points for the Rangers, who also got six points each from Lee and Breanna Coleman.

Coldwater Holiday Tournament

COLDWATER — Host Coldwater outscored Edwardsburg 15-6 in the fourth quarter to take the championship of its own holiday tournament.

The Eddies led at each of the first three quarter breaks, but could not maintain the lead in the final eight minutes of play.

Edwardsburg led 14-14 after one quarter and 25-24 at halftime. The Eddies were clinging to their one-point advantage (38-37) heading into the fourth quarter.

Mariah Murphy led the Eddies with 17 points. Sarah D’Amico added 14 points.
