Kozinski wins it for Eddies

WHITE PIGEON — A last-second shot by Josh Kozinski gave the Edwardsburg boys basketball team the championship of the Sturgis Bank and Trust Holiday Classic Thursday night.

White Pigeon’s Tanner Nichols buried a 3-pointer with eight seconds left to tie the score at 48-48. Kozinski then connected on a triple of his own at the buzzer to lift the Eddies to the 51-48 victory.

The 3-pointer was the sixth of the night for Kozinski, who finished with a game-high 33 points. Nichols had 23 points, including five treys for the Chiefs.

Centreville Holiday Tournament

CENTREVILLE — The Cassopolis Rangers picked up a split at the Centreville Holiday Tournament as they captured the consolation game with a 79-59 win over the host Bulldogs.

Cassopolis trailed 37-32 at halftime and were still down 51-50 heading into the fourth quarter.

The Rangers outscored Centreville 29-8 in the final eight minutes to roll to the victory.

Kenneth Carson led a quartet of Cassopolis players in double figures with 13 points. Damion Brown finished with 12 points, Tyler Gilliam 11 and Monroe Gomez with 10.
