Sly named CCAC Player of the Week

SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Former Niles standout Nichole Sly was named to the Crimson Wave Holiday All-Tournament team after scoring 18 points in each game of the tournament for Indiana University-South Bend.

The tournament was held in Whiting Ind. Dec. 9-10.

Sly also was named CCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

In only one game this past week, Sly made the most of it scoring 20 points in 34 minutes of play. In an 80-63 win over Lourdes College, she shot 54 percent from the floor going 7-of-13 and had six assists and three rebounds.

She also shot 40 percent from the 3-point line and made 80 percent of her free throws.

Indiana-South Bend is now 6-7 on the year.

It is the first time in her career that Sly has earned Player of the Week honors.
