Lake Michigan rallies to edge Rangers

CASSOPOLIS — Once again the Cassopolis girls basketball team was unable to hold an early lead and the result was a 41-35 loss to visiting Lake Michigan Catholic Tuesday night.

The Rangers (2-4) led 12-7 after one quarter, but were outscored 16-10 in the second quarter as the Lakers (6-1) close the gap to 22-21 at halftime.

Lake Michigan Catholic held a 10-4 advantage in the third period to take a 31-26 lead into the final stanza and then edged the Rangers 10-9 in the scoring column to earn the six-point victory.

Laura Sifrig had a game-high 16 points for the Lakers, who also got seven points from Lauren Visin.

Courtney Moore led Cassopolis with 15 points. Savannah Sullivan added 10 for the Rangers.
