Peterson elected

LANSING — Heather Drake, manager, state government relations, AAA Michigan, Dearborn, was elected chair of the Insurance Institute of Michigan (IIM).
Elections took place Nov. 29 at the IIM annual meeting in Lansing and also placed David Peterson, general counsel and claims manager for Wolverine Mutal Insurance Co. in Dowagiac, in a three-year term on the IIM Executive Committee.
Other officers elected were: Vice Chair – Rob Anderson, legislative counsel, Farm Bureau Insurance, Lansing, Michigan; Secretary – Carol Hutchinson, government affairs representative, Farmers Insurance, Brighton; and Treasurer Michael Puerner, vice president, general counsel, Hastings Mutual Insurance Co., Hastings.
Five companies were elected to three-year terms on the IIM Executive Committee.
The companies and their representatives besides Peterson: are Art Miller, legislative analyst, Accident Fund Insurance Company of America, Lansing; David Field, regional counsel, Allstate Insurance in Farmington Hills; Tom Lindell, president and chief operating officer, Michigan Millers Mutual Insurance Co., Lansing; and Mike Costello, senior vice president and general counsel at Meadowbrook Insurance Group, Southfield.
In addition, Tom Manning, counsel, State Farm Insurance, Bloomington, Ill., and Tracey Harney, director, government & industry relations, USAA, San Antonio, Texas, were elected to fill vacancies on the Executive Committee.
Headquartered in Lansing, IIM is the largest state level trade association representing the property/casualty insurance industry in Michigan.
