COMSTOCK – The Dowagiac JV girls’ basketball team defeated Comstock 27-14 in its season opener Tuesday night.

Ciera Smith led the Chieftains with eight points, while Amanda Craft and Creiona Rogers added seven and six points respectively.

“Overall there are still many areas to improve upon, but the girls are playing hard and we picked up our first victory of the year,” Dowagiac coach Robert Sovine said. “Ciera really played a good all-around game, getting multiple rebounds along with her eight points.”
