Library adopting family

Friends of the Dowagiac Library group have undertaken an adopt-a-family project for the holiday season. Library visitors have begun to select tags associated with a Dowagiac family in need.  Alyssa Cox, Dowagiac District Library’s customer service associate, talked to Joe Broussard, a student of graphic video design, who volunteered to participate in this cause. Here’s how it works: Select a tag from the tree, buy the gift listed on the tag and bring the unwrapped gift (and the tag) to the library on or before Dec. 20. Dowagiac Library Friends wrap gifts and deliver them to the adopted family.

The family, which has five children, was selected for this project by the Department of Human Services of Cass County.
