LISLE, Ill. — Former Dowagiac athletic director Scott Lawler has been named the new baseball coach at Benet Academy Monday.

Lawler resigned after one year at Dowagiac last August to take the assistant athletic director’s job at Benet.

Lawler, who came was an assistant coach at Notre Dame before taking over the Chieftain AD position, replaces Jeff Bonebrake, who resigned Dec. 1, after 11 seasons.

Benet has won 16 games in each of the past two years.
