Roof leaks have emerged in the depot building. Bids were received that includes the removal of all shingles, new flashing, felt and installation of 30-year shingles.
The lowest bid was submitted by Vylonis Contracting in the amount of $37,947. Funds for this project would need to come through a budget amendment in the Municipal Building Fund. The dilemma becomes how to repair and replace the most critical sections (Amtrak office area) and continue to maintain the holiday lighting.
Vylonis Contracting agreed to remove the Christmas lighting only in the areas where work is taking place and reinstall them as quickly as possible so the lighting at the depot can continue through March 2012. Only the sections being worked on will have the lighting temporarily removed.
