SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Juniors Cal Cox and Dontel Highsmith of Dowagiac were up for FOX 28’s Sports Extra Highlight of the Year Award Monday night at the College Football Hall of Fame.

Cox tossed a 47-yard touchdown pass to Highsmith to win Sports Extra’s Highlight of the Night for Week 14.

A total of 15 highlights were honored with awards at the Second Annual Highlight of the Year Awards. The show can be seen in a half-hour format Thurday at 10:30 p.m. on FOX 28. The show will be anchored by Dean Huppert and Allison Hayes.

The winning highlight was won by Bremen’s Nate Leeper, Braxton Miller, Zack Renner and Ethan Pike.

Lakeshore’s Johnny Nate, son of former Dowagiac standout Mark Nate, Matt Reynolds and Austin Kaiser were Highlight of the Night winners for Week 8.
