MARSP meets Nov. 17

The Cass County Chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel will meet Thursday, Nov. 17, at the Cass County Council on Aging, at the corner of M-60 and Decatur Road, Cassopolis.
The business meeting will begin at 1 p.m. in the Plym Room and will feature a presentation by a representative from Southwestern Michigan College on its scholarship program, as well as the current status of insurance and retirement programs at the state level by a legislative ambassador.
The COA’s traditional Thanksgiving dinner begins at noon prior to the meeting. Reservations must be made for the dinner with members assigned calling contact person, or by calling 445-2511 by Monday. Attendance at the business meeting is open without reservations. Meal tickets will be honored, however the dinner cost is $5 without a ticket. There will be no a la carte menu available. To ensure a reservation with the MARSP group, do not call the COA.
All retired school personnel or those expecting to retire soon are invited to attend both the dinner and meeting. Members are reminded that the collection campaign for Cass County food pantries will continue, especially now at Thanksgiving. Items needed are canned goods, boxed dinners, non-perishable items and paper products.
