Two Al-Anon meetings in Niles are making a difference in the lives of many people who are struggling with the effects of living with or dealing with a problem drinker/alcoholic.
Al-Anon  is a fellowship of relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength and hope in order to solve their common problems.  Al-Anon is not allied with any religion, political entity or other organization.  There are no dues for membership; it is self-supporting by voluntary contributions.  The group does not discuss religion, but the Al-Anon program is spiritually-based and anonymity/identity is protected at all times.  It is a safe place to come and learn new ways to cope and deal with the effects of living with alcoholism whether currently or in the past.   New members are always welcome.
Al-Anon recently celebrated 60 years of helping family and friends of alcoholics. There are approximately 23,000 meetings worldwide.
