Join the Volunteer Center of Southwest Michigan and the City of Niles in a “Day of Preparation” to develop a new water feature at Riverfront Park in Niles Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to noon.
Participate in a variety of activities that will help prepare for a 2012 build day, including cleaning and prepping the site; moving rocks; picking up the pond liner, supplies and pond plants; and recording the event.
Volunteers of all ages welcome and everyone will receive a free T-shirt.
All volunteers should park by the volleyball court next to the railroad overpass at 8:30 a.m. to get assignments. In case of rain or other bad weather, volunteers will meet at the amphitheater.
