The Niles Art Association has chosen Michelle Maret, of Edwardsburg, as the recipient of its scholarship award.
Maret is majoring in graphic design at Southwestern Michigan College. She is a nontraditional student who returned to college to continue her education after 18 years. The NAA, a nonprofit organization, raises funds for its scholarships by publishing a calendar containing original art by its members and, this year, by donations received for specially designed snowflakes that were displayed in its gallery.
