• Oct. 3 and 17, Mondays: Quilting Club. All quilters are welcome to join the Quilting Club. The group will create, learn and share their wares by donating them to local charities. 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Oct. 3 and 4, Monday and Tuesday: AARP Driver Safety Course. Brush up on important safety information and review the rules of the road. Lunch is available for additional cost in our dining room. Call 445-8110 for reservations. Cost is $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-members; 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. both days.
• Oct. 3, 5, 10, 12, 17, 19, 24, 26 and 31, Mondays and Wednesdays: Zumba. Zumba morning or evening  to get you in shape the fun way. Cost is $5 per class or $20 per month. Choose your time: 8:30 a.m. or 5:45 p.m.
• Oct. 4, 11, 18 and 25, Tuesdays: Computer Class. Learn computer basics from volunteer instructor Tim Wiggins on your laptop or our computer lab. Free class runs for six weeks and meets Tuesdays beginning Oct. 4 at 11 a.m.
• Oct. 5, 12, 19 and 26, Wednesdays: Cribbage Club. Open to Cribbage players of all skill levels, play begins at 1 p.m. Wednesdays.
• Oct. 6, Thursday: Medication Drop-off. Bring in unused, expired or unwanted medications for proper disposal from 10 a.m. to noon. Medications must be in their original, labeled containers and signed in when dropped off.
• Oct. 6, 13, 20 and 27, Thursdays: Dance Club. Dance to a variety of musical styles and enjoy the fellowship of friends. 9 a.m.
• Oct. 7, 14, 21 and 28, Fridays: Knitting and Crocheting. The group is open to anyone who likes to knit or crochet, regardless of skill level. They share techniques, stories and fun while knitting items to donate to charity. 10 a.m. to noon.
• Oct. 10, Monday: Brain Aerobics. “Fitness for your Mind” exercises the brain and stimulates neurons. This is a free class, but you must register due to space limitations. This class is open to everyone. 10 a.m. to noon. Same class is repeated on Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Dowagiac.
• Oct. 10, Monday: Movies for Grown-ups. Monthly Monday movies are back to regular features from AARP’s “Best Movies for Grown-ups” list. Free popcorn, movie starts at 1:15 p.m.
• Oct. 10, Monday and Oct. 26, Wednesday: Computer Assistance. Friendly volunteers from the Cass District Library will help individuals with computer issues in our redesigned Information Center. Use our computers of bring your laptop. Oct. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m. and Oct. 26 from 10 a.m. to noon.
• Oct. 12, Wednesday: Volunteer New Year Breakfast. All current and new volunteers are invited to attend this celebration of our new fiscal year. Bring a friend at 9 a.m. and enjoy hot breakfast and prizes. Entertainment by the Melody Notes, RSVP by calling 445-8110 or at the front desk.
• Oct. 12, Wednesday: Jewelry Making Class. Sign up today to learn basic jewelry making techniques. Registration fee of $10 includes all supplies for this class set for from 10 a.m. to noon.
• Oct. 12, Wednesday: Michigan Back Roads. Author Ron Rademacher will discuss all the exciting places we never knew existed in our backyards. 12:30 p.m.
• Oct. 17, Monday: Senior Safety Updates. Learn how to protect yourself from identity theft and scams over the phone and through the mail. The Michigan Senior Brigade will provide information and practical solutions at 1 p.m.
• Oct. 21, Friday: Book Club. The “Read & Share” club has selected “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter” by Kim Edwards for October. All are welcome to join in the lively discussions of this like-minded group of avid readers! 1 to 2:30 p.m. Read ahead for November: “The Postmistress.”
• Oct. 26, Wednesday: Caregiver’s Support Group. Aimed at those taking care of ill or elderly loved ones, the group offers a chance for caregivers to discuss issues, coping strategies, and gain support from others. Care services during the meeting for those in need can be arranged free of charge by calling Suzanne Beurmann at the Council on Aging at 445-8110 or (800) 323-0390, 1 to 3 p.m.
• Oct. 28, Friday: Halloween Party. Dress up or just see who wins prizes for best costumes and enjoy the fun starting at noon. Party is free; lunch is available for about $5.
