A 22-year-old Vandalia man was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Cassopolis Road early today.
John Grice was driving southbound on Cassopolis Road from U.S. Highway 12 at 12:45 a.m. when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree.
According to Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood, speed and alcohol were factors in the crash. Grice was not wearing a seatbelt.
A vehicle driven by deputies were assisted at the scene by the Porter Township Fire and Ambulance service.
