CASSOPOLIS — Children and their families throughout Cass County are invited to 4-H Science Blast on Wednesday, Oct. 5 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Cass District Library.
4-H Science Blast is a youth-oriented event featuring fun, hands-on science experiments and activities presented by Michigan State University Extension as part of its statewide “I Know MI Numbers” initiative.
Previously held once a year on the campus of Michigan State University, 4-H Science Blast is expanding into all 83 Michigan counties and aims to boost science literacy.
“Science is in many aspects of daily life. Creating that foundation for youth to build on is important. Sparking a child’s interests now may help open doors later on in their life,” said program coordinator Stephanie Smith.
At 4-H Science Blast, youth will have the chance to engage in science activities in key subject areas such as environmental science, biology and plant science.
There will be several hand-on stations including Fashion a Fish, Sinker or Floater, Get the Bugs Out and Feed Critters.
