Jewelry artist Ann Hartley will kick off the Southwestern Michigan College Art Exhibition series Tuesday.
Hartley, who lives and works in Moline, Ill., designs her jewelry with comfort, serenity, delicacy and space in mind. The exhibit runs through Sept. 30. During 2011, Hartley is committed to making one ring a week to explore new forms, techniques and metaphors.
An artist reception is set for 12:30 p.m. Sept. 14. The exhibit and reception are held in the Art Gallery located in the Dale A. Lyons Building, Room 108 on the Dowagiac campus. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and by appointment. There is no admission fee for the art receptions and the gallery.
