primary election Aug. 7, 2012.
“It has been an honor to serve as your sheriff for the past 11 years. I am seeking re-election in 2012 in order to continue the strong programs already in place, look for new ideas and create better ways to serve the citizens of Berrien County,” Bailey said in a press release.
Bailey said if re-elected, he wants to continue to maintain training for officers, attend township meetings monthly with a patrol activity report, seek Emergency Management/Homeland Security grants and operate with a balanced budget.
“My focus continues to be on improving public safety for the entire county,” he said. “Despite the county’s difficult financial challenges, I am committed to working with the county commissioners in order to maintain the level of service the administration has brought to the public.”
