Indiana Michigan Power is reporting 1,085 power outages in the Niles East Circuit, near Barron Lake.

There were more earlier in the day but the company has been able to restore power to 561 homes.

I&M officials say they don’t have a good handle on the full extent of the problem or the cause but hope to have full restoration of power by shortly after 12 p.m.
