CASSOPOLIS — A Niles woman was injured in a one-vehicle accident Saturday on M-51.
Cass County Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reported that Saturday at approximately 4:24 a.m., his department responded to a personal-injury car crash on M-51 near Warren Road in Howard Township.
A vehicle driven by Janet Allen, 29, was southbound on M-51 when she swerved to avoid a deer in the road.  Allen lost control of her vehicle, left the roadway and hit a tree.
Allen was transported to Lakeland Community  Hospital in Niles for treatment of her injuries.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Howard Township Fire Department and first responders and Southwestern Michigan Community Ambulance Service.
Seat belts were used.
Alcohol was not a factor, deputies reported.
