New center hopes to heal mind, body and spirit

In an effort to promote and facilitate health and wholeness in spirit as well as in body and mind, the Greater Michiana Healing Arts Center opened its doors on May.

Located at 109 N. Third Street in downtown Niles, the Greater Michiana Healing Arts Center is pleased to provide a wide range of health related services to the public.

The Greater Michiana Healing Arts Center is presently home to the Haelan Family Counseling Center and to the Inner Journey Healing Arts Center.

The Haelan Family Counseling Center, which has operated under the direction of Dr. Marc T. Milhander, has been operating in Niles for more than 22 years. Haelan offers a variety of counseling and psychotherapy services for individuals, couples and families as well as a comprehensive assessment and testing services. The center is staffed by a core group of highly trained, licensed and experienced professionals from several disciplines. Most insurance plans are accepted at Haelan Family Counseling Center.

The Inner Journey Healing Arts enter encourages and supports individual and collective consciousness. A variety of individual practitioners utilize diverse modalities in providing services which include massage, reflexology, sound therapy, acupuncture, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, intuitive readings, numerology, Reiki, aura cleansing and chakra balancing.

The infrared sauna and “It Works” body wraps allow for relaxation and detoxification of the body.

Meditation and Yoga combined with various other classes allow for additional alternative healing. In addition to books, CD’s, gems, crystals and stones, personalized custom jewelry is also designed.

For the grand opening on June 18, the Greater Michiana Healing Arts Center is pleased to introduce the work of Kathy Broekhuizen.  Following the diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, Broekhuizen discovered the artist within.

The community is invited from 3 to 8 p.m. on Saturday June 18, at 109 North Third Street in downtown Niles.
