CASSOPOLIS — Sheriff Joseph M. Underwood Jr. reports that on Friday, June 10, at about 6:38 p.m., his office was called to investigate a personal-injury crash on Brownsville Street near Carver Road in Calvin Township.

Timothy Deryder, 20, of Cassopolis, was traveling west on Brownsville Street when he lost control of his motorcycle, crashing into an oncoming car. He was transported to Elkhart, Ind., General Hospital for treatment.

The other driver was not injured in this crash. Alcohol is not believed to be a factor at this time and a helmet and a seatbelt were used by the respective operators. Assisting were Penn Township Fire Department, Life Care

Ambulance and Edwardsburg Ambulance. This case remains under investigation.
