Smoke Vision Care, established by Drs. Steven and Brenda Smoke in 1991, will kick of an annual celebration of serving the eye care needs in the Michiana area with an open house in their Buchanan location Thursday, June 16 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Smoke Vision Care first opened in Buchanan in 1991 and later added locations in New Buffalo and Dowagiac.  “We can’t believe how quickly 20 years has passed,” said Dr. Steven Smoke “We’re very proud to be celebrating the occasion.”
Drs. Steven and Brenda Smoke, optometrists, also husband and wife, attribute their success to their unwavering dedication to providing the most advanced eye care services with a focus on personalized attention.
“We consider it a privilege to serve the community and have enjoyed creating long term relationships with our patients that are rooted in their knowledge of our desire to help them preserve their vision for a lifetime,” said Brenda Smoke.
Over the 20 years that the Smokes have been examining patients, many changes have occurred in the industry. Continued education and investing in new technology has allowed them to provide state of the art eye care for the earliest in the diagnosis of eye disease.
“Twenty years ago we could only draw what we saw when examining the eye, now we can take full color digital photos of the inside of the eye,” said Steven Smoke. Smoke Vision Care is also the only optometric practice in southwest Michigan with the instrumentation capable of scanning the deep layers of the retina for early diagnosis of eye diseases like macular degeneration. Along with providing comprehensive eye care the offices have optical departments that devote themselves to having a wide selection of eye wear and sunwear and feature lenses that are truly customized for each patient to provide the best in vision.
The open house is being held to thank their existing patients for the support they have shown and introduce new patients to the office as well. Events are being planned for the other locations as well. During the open house there will be special discounts on eye wear and eye wear related prize drawings. There will be opportunity for individualized frame styling and regional frame company representatives will be in the office with entire and exclusive lines of Maui Jim, Coach, Nautica, OGI and more.
More than $3,500 in eyewear gifts will be given away.
