The Niles High School Class of 2011 said goodbye Thursday evening during its graduation at the high school football field.

Two-hundred names were called during the 149th commencement.

Guest speakers for the ceremony were Brett Phillips, who graduated first in the class, Jessica Richmond and Alexis Franciscotty.

Jessie Sebastian gave the welcome after the Symphonic Band performed “Pomp and Circumstance.” It also played the national anthem and “Ode to Joy” for the recessional, and the choir sang “100 Years.”

Adam Bolton announced the Class of 2011 gift — a quote which will be written on the walls at NHS. Megan Lighthart asked the graduates to turn their tassels.

Forty-one graduates plan to study arts and communications; 18 will pursue business, management, marketing and technology; 36 will study engineering/manufacturing and industrial technology; 59 are planning careers in health science; 41 are going into human services fields; two are studying natural resources/agriscience; and three grads are foreign exchange students.
