Memorial Day parade details finalized

Edwardsburg will celebrate Memorial Day on Monday with the annual parade and festival at Gun Park.

The parade will start at the middle school on Section Street at 11 a.m.

There will be a short flag ceremony at the Edwardsburg Area History Museum on Main Street (U.S. 12).

The parade will then turn left onto Cass Street, proceed down to Hamilton Street and then turn right to proceed to the Edwardsburg Cemetery where flags will be placed on veterans’ graves.

The American Legion and the VFW are organizing the parade. Anyone with questions or for information can call the Legion at 663-8888 or the VFW at 663-8007.

Hamilton and Lake Streets will be blocked off until 2:30 p.m., these streets will only be open to pedestrians.

Parking will be in the village parking lot on Main Street and along the side streets of the village.

The festival at Gun Park officially starts at 11 a.m.

The presentation of the Key of the Village to Miss Edwardsburg will take place at noon on the new bandstand.

The festival will include music, food, games, a jump house, pony rides and crafts.

The Uptown Improvement Association is sponsoring a bike decoration for youth in grades K-6.

Participants should meet at the Middle School at 10:30 a.m. Cash prizes will be given to first, second, and third place.

All bike decorating participants will be given a participation award.
